“More Than Me: The Reproducing Power of Serving”
OPENING PRAYER:
Father, turn our eyes outward. Teach us the joy of seeing Your life multiplied through our words and deeds.
This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. John 15:8 (NIV)
Jesus links our fruitfulness not to personal achievement but to the Father’s glory, and to the authenticity of our discipleship.
REFLECT:
Rodney recounted a moving story: a man, years later, returned to thank the leader who had spoken words of life into him as a teen. That leader’s investment changed the trajectory of his life. Genuine fruitfulness isn’t about doing good for the sake of feeling good—it’s about multiplying what God has given you in the lives of others.
When we serve, encourage, or invite others into God’s mission, we become part of a chain reaction that extends far beyond our sight. Rodney compared fruit to seeds: real fruit contains within it the potential for more fruit, for generations to come. Our acts of service, large and small, can echo through lives and decades, even if we never see the results directly.
God’s call is to multiply, not just to maintain. Every act of service is an opportunity for God’s glory to spread, for the character of Jesus to be reproduced in others.
APPLY:
Thank someone who has invested in your spiritual life. Then, prayerfully ask God to show you someone you can encourage or invite to join you in serving.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will take one concrete step towards serving, or I will invite someone to serve with me.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Thank You, God, for those who invested in us. Use our lives to plant seeds of faith, hope, and love in others, for Your glory and their good.
PRAYER REQUEST:
Share your prayer request and pray for others.

This weekend, we talked about taking the next step—and sometimes that step is simply getting started. If you've never served at Pathway, or if it's been a while, we'd love to help you find your place. Just open the Pathway App, tap Get Involved, or visit the website at pathwaychurch.com/volunteer to explore where you could jump in. And if you're already serving, here's your challenge this week: invite someone to serve alongside you. Some of the greatest growth happens when we serve together, so don't keep that opportunity to yourself!
