Fruit That Lasts—Measuring Our Impact
OPENING PRAYER:
God of abundance, help us see the difference between busyness and fruitfulness. Teach us to measure our lives by the impact we have for Your kingdom.
"This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." John 15:8 (NIV)
Bearing fruit is not just a personal goal, but the evidence of true discipleship and a life that glorifies God.
REFLECT:
The message asked: “Has anyone’s life been changed or been different because of you? Has anyone been served or forgiven or welcomed or grown in their faith because you were willing to be able to spend time with them and walk alongside them?” These are searching questions. It’s possible to fill our calendars with church activities and yet never bear the kind of fruit Jesus desires.
Fruit that lasts is seen in changed lives, restored relationships, and people coming to faith. The story of the 9 students baptized and 70 recommitting their lives at camp was a living testimony—fruit borne not by a single branch, but by branches connected and producing together. Legacy is built not by what we consume, but by the fruit we allow God to grow through us.
APPLY:
This weekend, we talked about taking the next step—and sometimes that step is simply getting started. If you've never served at Pathway, or if it's been a while, we'd love to help you find your place. Just open the Pathway App, tap Get Involved, or visit the website at pathwaychurch.com/volunteer to explore where you could jump in. And if you're already serving, here's your challenge this week: invite someone to serve alongside you. Some of the greatest growth happens when we serve together, so don't keep that opportunity to yourself!< /I>
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will take one concrete step towards serving, or I will invite someone to serve with me.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, may our lives bear fruit for Your glory. Use our ordinary moments to make an eternal difference, and let Your love ripple out through our actions.
PRAYER REQUEST:
Share your prayer request and pray for others.
