The Final Step: Fruit That Remains

OPENING PRAYER:

Gracious God, anchor me in the truth that every act of love sown in Your name will yield an eternal harvest. Open my eyes to the lasting impact of a life lived for You.

READ: John 15:17 (NIV)

“This is my command: Love each other.” John 15:17 (NIV)

Jesus’s final word in this passage is a simple, sweeping command—love, as the defining mark of His followers.

REFLECT:

As this week closes, let’s look back and see the threads God has woven: the tree bearing fruit for others, the call to get off the sidelines, the costly love of Jesus, the holy nudge of conviction, the reality that someone’s life may depend on your act of love, and the joy of serving together. All of it leads here: Jesus commands us to love—not as an ending, but as our ongoing calling.

Pastor Rodney ended with a challenge: “Take one concrete step.” This isn’t about finishing a checklist, but about living a life that leaves a mark; fruit that remains after we’re gone. Every act of love, every moment you serve, every time you invite someone else in, you are sowing seeds that God will bring to harvest. You may not see the results, but the promise of Jesus is sure: fruit that lasts, love that endures, a life poured out that brings glory to the Father. This is your calling, your legacy, and your invitation—step into it, and let your life become a blessing that outlives you.

APPLY:

This weekend, we talked about taking the next step—and sometimes that step is simply getting started. If you've never served at Pathway, or if it's been a while, we'd love to help you find your place. Just open the Pathway App, tap Get Involved, or visit the website at pathwaychurch.com/volunteer to explore where you could jump in. And if you're already serving, here's your challenge this week: invite someone to serve alongside you. Some of the greatest growth happens when we serve together, so don't keep that opportunity to yourself!

I WILL STATEMENT:

I will take one concrete step towards serving, or I will invite someone to serve with me.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of loving others in Your name. May my life bear fruit that remains, drawing others to Your heart and bringing glory to the Father. Amen.

PRAYER REQUEST:

Share your prayer request and pray for others.
